Infusion Techniques Overview
Ultrasonic Infusion
A modern method that uses sound waves to speed up extraction. It’s fast, powerful, and preserves delicate compounds that can be lost with high heat. Excellent for cannabinoids and fragile herbs.
Sous Vide / Heat-Controlled Infusion
Gentle, precise heat (using an Instapot, immersion circulator, or double boiler) keeps temperatures steady. A reliable choice for both oil and alcohol tinctures.
Dual Extraction (Water + Alcohol)
Ideal for mushrooms and roots. Alcohol captures certain compounds, while water pulls out others. Combined, you get the full spectrum of benefits.
Slow Infusion (Traditional)
The classic mason jar method, steeping for 2–6 weeks. Simple, patient, and time-tested.
Double Infusion
A two-stage approach: first infuse cannabinoids, then run a second infusion with selected herbs into the same base. This method builds layered blends with both plant systems working together.
